There are moments in your life when food gives you that umami flavor. You probably know the sensation: it is sometimes describes as the 'aah' you feel after drinking beer or wine. I experienced that sensation today as I took a bite out of the Anaheim panini. The pancake that accompanied my dish was soft and tender: it was just the way I like it.
I would go back and order the same meal again. I enjoyed it very much. -

Ok, so let me start by saying I used love coming here but lately the quality of food and customer service has gone downhill! I usually come in about twice a week since I go to school at U of R and every time I come there has been something wrong with my food. I came in with my family for breakfast on the weekend after the rush (around 1030ish) and I ordered the berries and cream pancakes with a side of sausage and no eggs, my husband ordered an egg breakfast with toast, and we tried to order a blueberry hand pie (think fancy pop tart). We were told that they no longer serve hand pies and the lady at the register suggested the lemon loaf which I know my husband really did not want but he wanted something sweet for his coffee.
When we sit down at a table I noticed that I was not given a number or a pager and asked one of the employees who was walking around if they had changed the way the food was delivered and she said no you probably just didn't get your pager. When the lady from the register came to our table she handed me the pager and said " YOU forgot your pager" which was not what happened at all SHE didn't give it to me in the first place. Then our food comes out and there is bacon instead of sausage and eggs on the plate with the pancakes. Then the toast was ICE COLD like it has been sitting out a long time. There was no butter or jam, not that the butter would have melted anyways but still no one offered me any. I went to the counter and requested new toast and butter and jam. The woman at the counter said it would be about 15 minutes for new toast to come out to which I said ok, but the toast NEVER came!!! Then when my husband went to eat his lemon loaf he was totally disappointed with how DRY and CRUMBLY it was. They didn't even warm it up like they usually warm up their other cakes and pastries. What a waste of a breakfast pastry.
Lastly, there are two things that I cannot stand bitter/burned coffee and a musty smell in the dining area. This location always had bitter or passed its prime coffee (The Europa Blend in particular) and it seems the smell when you walk in is getting worse and worse.

Dang, why are your pancakes sooo good! I keep coming back here... Even though my order is messed up half the time (not an exaggeration) and the staff is rude. Just be a little friendlier and careful. Maybe not speak about your personal lives so loudly amongst yourselves. Maybe another location will open near by and I can go there.

I like coming here to go for a solo lunch, it's a little out of my way as I'm up by Cal State but I usually have errands to run in the area. On a very regular basis I receive e-mail coupons for their choose two special so it's nice to have an extra bonus when I do visit. If you sign up for their e-club you'll get similar offers along with a birthday treat in your month.
It gets really busy during lunch rush! Noise level can be pretty loud depending on how busy it's getting, along with the music playing. Parking can get real annoying and I find myself usually having to park in the Vons parking area as the cafe is on a Main Street and shares a strip shopping mall area. Overall, the food is pretty good, thankfully haven't found anything in it that isn't supposed to be there and the staff I've come across have all been friendly.
